Students walking together outside a school

The Gilbarty Foundation

Potential isn’t
measured by
grades alone.

We offer scholarships to public school students whose character, perseverance, and leadership potential deserve to be recognized.

Discover our mission
01Recognizing promise.
Creating opportunity.

Our belief

Inspiring tomorrow’s
leaders today.

A student’s grades tell only part of their story.

Leadership can be seen in a student who helps a classmate, supports their family, or keeps trying when learning is difficult. We believe these qualities deserve recognition—and the opportunity to grow.

01Character

Acting with integrity and caring for others.

02Resilience

Learning from setbacks and continuing to try.

03Potential

The capacity to grow, contribute, and lead.

Our scholarships

More than grades.
A chance to grow.

Our scholarships recognize students whose promise may not be fully reflected in their academic results. That includes students earning B or C grades who demonstrate determination, care for others, and a desire to make a difference.

A legacy of opportunity.

James and Ashley Gilbarty founded The Gilbarty Foundation to honor their parents, Jane and Richard Gilbarty, and carry forward their lifelong commitment to education.

Jane and Richard devoted their careers to the school system and their lives to a simple belief: give more than you receive. To them, educating the next generation was one of the most honorable ways to serve.

For James and Ashley, that example became a shared purpose. Through the foundation, the siblings honor their parents by helping young people continue their education, develop their abilities, and find their own ways to lead.

Their belief in the next generation
is the foundation of everything we do.
